Read on for a 10% discount code from The Organic Dish, plus one reader wins a free meal!!
How can you become eligible to win the free meal*? Do any of the following by the end of the day on Tuesday, December 2nd:
- Add a meaningful comment to a post (there is a link to do so at the bottom of each one and if you want check the “notify me of followup comments via email” checkbox to see who responds to your comment)
- Send me an email at: ryan@thereluctanteater.com (and just say hi)
- Chat with me when I’m online (click the “chat with Ryan Wanger” link just below “Recent Posts” on the right hand side…since the chatting is anonymous, you’ll have to give me a way to get in touch with you if you win. And just to make it interesting, I’ll be hard to catch this week!)
- Subscribe to The Reluctant Eater via email or RSS (though with the latter you’ll still have to let me know who you are somehow, because I have no way of knowing)
- Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/reluctanteater
Extra special bonus…your name will be entered into the drawing once for each of the above tasks. Do all five, and you’ll be entered five times! Winner will be chosen at random and announced on December 3rd.
Why would you want to win a meal from The Organic Dish?
Because they’re “healthy, simple to make, and delicious ready-to-cook organic meals and dinner kits. *If you live outside the Boulder / Denver area, you will win a $25 gift certificate instead. The Organic Dish ships everywhere in the US, but it is too expensive (dry ice, etc) for them to send just one meal. Order a few for a dinner party.
On Friday, I had my first meal from The Organic Dish: Pork Tenderloin With Rosemary Plum Coulis, with sides of red quinoa and kale. The meal comes frozen, in a paper box (complete with biodegradable corn stickers), separated, bagged, and ready to cook. After having been defrosted for a day or two, the Pork Tenderloin with Rosemary Plum Coulis took about 30 minutes to cook, and required very little attention.
The result: a tasty, once frozen, dinner that you don’t have to feel guilty about! Plus, you get the satisfaction of having cooked it yourself. The pork and plum sauce were particularly awesome. The Organic Dish is a great “gateway”…one that helps people transition from unhealthy processed food to local, organic meals they cook themselves. I can see The Organic Dish being particularly useful for people with demanding work schedules, or those who are having small dinner parties, but don’t have time to spend the afternoon preparing.
I truly believe that we will soon see many other operations like The Organic Dish. Beckie is a great person, supports local food producers, is fanatical about sustainability, and stands behind her product. Many people make unhealthy food choices because they are “too busy”…well, they don’t have that excuse anymore!
10% discount code for The Organic Dish
In addition to the free meal giveaway, as a special thanks, anyone who orders from The Organic Dish (online, or in person) receives 10% off using the discount code: “reluctant”.

To sum it up:
Comment, email, chat, subscribe, Twitter. December 3rd I’ll announce the winner of the free meal right here on The Reluctant Eater, and remind you of the December 4th event at The Organic Dish. Thanks to Beckie Hemmerling (read my interview with her from last Friday) for this special promotion. If all goes well, we can do it again in the future!
