Seasonal Allergies? Eat Local Honey

by Ryan Wanger on March 3, 2009 · 0 comments

Think about it: the local bees go from flower to flower, pollenating, buzzing around, and generally doing their thing. At the end of the day, the honey they make contains little bits of local pollen. Rather than walking out the door for a faceful of pollen, eating said honey builds up your tolerance slowly.

Although much of the evidence out on the internet seems to be anecdotal, it makes a lot of sense. Here are a few links to get you started. Allergy season is coming, so start preparing now by supporting your local honeymakers!

A hat tip to @rickbakas for mentioning this topic.
